Staying in Santorini

So many of you have messaged me regarding my trip to Greece! I’ve been traveling a bunch the past few weeks so forgive me as it’s going to take a minute to get all the details of my trips up! I’m starting off with Santorini! I think of the three places we traveled to within Greece, Santorini was my favorite!

Getting to Greece took a whopping 33+ hours, so when we got there we were both excited and exhausted. Let’s talk flights, we flew via Delta airline’s partner AirFrance into Athens and it was incredible, they fed us so much food and I would definitely fly with them again. Only thing is that we missed our connecting flight in Paris (if you think an hour & 25 minute layover is a sufficient amount of time, think again) which meant that we wouldn’t arrive to Santorini when we were expecting. From Athens to Santorini we flew via Olympic Air. I’ve received so many questions regarding how I did Greece for so cheap and I will be doing a blog post on this within the next two weeks so stay tuned for that!

Instead of getting there at night, we arrived early in the morning which threw our sleep schedule way off. On day one we explored our cute airbnb for a bit, took a nap and then ate dinner down the street and went to bed again. We stayed in Perissa Beach at Anny’s studios and I would highly recommend staying here to anyone interested in going to Santorini. It was on the further end of the island away from the big towns Fira & Oia (about a 35-45 min ATV drive) and it was perfection. We were literally across the street from Black Sands Beach and within walking distance of tons of restaurants, shops and even some cool cathedrals and bell towers.

We also did a sailing tour in Santorini with Santorini Sailing (http://www.santorinisailing.com) we did the day tour and it was 110% worth it, we got to see a lot of Santorini which was nice because then we were able to get an idea of the different spots we wanted to see while we were on the island.

Another day we rented ATV’s and drove to Fira, walked around for a bit then headed over to Oia for the famous sunset! Driving along the coastline was absolutely amazing, the only thing I would have done different is taken more time to do so. If I would’ve had more time I would have been stopping to capture the beauty of what we saw driving over. It was so much fun and I probably drove way too fast!

Some things to know about Santorini:

-Staying in Perissa Beach will be a lot less busy and more relaxing than staying in the main villages.

-This might be TMI, but throughout all of Greece you cannot flush anything down the toilet (this was surprising to me because I had no clue about that!)

-Eat Gyros every single day, they are fresh cheap & have french fries in them.

-Eat as many Greek Salads & Tomatoes as you can.

-The beaches are not soft sand, more like little tiny pebbles.

-Most beaches will have chairs there that you can use.

-This island was much cheaper than Mykonos.

Absolutely love this post and your top Lex! ♥️ Regarding the ‘TMI’ fact, I’m glad you noted that because I as well did not know that.
