Honestly, the last few weeks have kind of been rough. Everything that could have gone wrong seemingly did so. Between work, dating, school, housing, finances, it has been one thing after another. It got me to a point where I kept thinking, “Why me?” “Why is this happening to me” I was frustrated. I was upset. I felt defeated.
But as I was processing everything that is currently going on in my life eventually my thoughts lead to Heavenly Father. I needed to adjust my attitude and depend upon Him. I needed to endure. Maybe all of these trials are happening because Heavenly Father needed to know that I have faith in Him and His will. So I began doing my best to stop focusing on the worldly things around me and started focusing on Heavenly Father and His plan for me. I took the “Why’s?” and turned them into “How’s?” How can I have faith? How can I endure?
As I was driving home from work tonight I was listening to a talk from this past session of conference by President Russell M. Nelson, he said, “My dear brothers and sisters, the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.”
There will always be storms in life. No matter what we are doing there will always be some sort of trial we will be facing. Wither it’s a cloudy day, a rainstorm or a full blown hurricane, we must endure. It won’t be easy to have complete faith sometimes, but that’s okay because as we strive to progress through our trials and place our focus onto Heavenly Fathers plan we will be blessed. There will be sunshine and it will bring joy into our lives as we endure through the storms in life.
