Wow, it’s been way too long since I’ve been in Maui and I have SLACKED on doing this post. But let me tell you, Maui is incredible! There is so much to do on the little island and I loved every second of it. There a bunch of cute little towns within Maui and each of them is a little different from the others. I stayed in Kihei with my good friend Harmony and it was a blast!

I think my favorite part about Maui was how the views are incredible everywhere you look and there are local fruit stands you can stop by basically anywhere you drive.

What to do in Maui

  • Head to the Road Of Hana-There are a million places to stop here and the road is windy, plan on spending at least half a day or even a full day exploring here.
  • Visit different juice bars and fruit stands-We went to & it was incredible. You have to try the pineapple drink that they have and the bread. The bread will change your life. It’s also right next to the cutest little bakery and pie shop!!
  • Go to Ali’i Kula Lavender fields-This was so much fun, it’s up on a mountain & SO green, it was cool to see all the different types of flowers that can grow on the island.
  • Beach Day & Sunsets-We went to a few different beaches and they are all so pretty and close together. Be warned though, the sun is hot in Maui so wear sunscreen so you don’t end up turning into a lobster like I did. Every single night you should plan on catching the sunset. Maui had the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen!
  • Hang out at a resort pool-If you aren’t much of a beach fan, there are a lot of resorts in Maui that allow a day pool pass!
  • Take a trip to Costco-Trust me when I tell you that you need to do this if you’re in Maui. I bought my macadamia nuts and chocolates in bulk and it saved me a ton of money, plus I got to bring them home! I don’t usually like chocolate but I love Maui Caramacs by Hawaiian Host. And you can’t visit any part of Hawaii without eating some macadamia nuts! Bonus: There’s a food truck parking lot right across the street from Costco and they were the bomb!
  • Go to Nakalele Point-This is where the heart shaped rock and blow holes are! It was super fun and an easy hike. Pay attention to the way you get there though because hiking back up can be a bit confusing! Also be sure not to get to close to the blow holes as tempting as it may be, they are super powerful and can be dangerous. Definitely worth adventuring to though! And so much fun to watch.
  • Snorkel with turtles-We unfortunately didn’t get the chance to do this, but there are so many different spots to snorkel and so many sea turtles, this is on my list for the next time that I visit.
  • Shop The Shops at Wailea-Did you forget something? Or just want some time off the beach? Head over to the Shops at Wailea. It’s a mall in an outdoor setting with so many different local shops as well as ones you’d see back on the mainland.
  • Eat some good seafood-You can’t go to Hawaii without eating some good food! Every restaurant we went to was so yummy. My favorite by far was Maui Brick Oven in Kihei. I crave it all the time and wish we had something like it here!

Maui was so much fun and I already have a huge list of things I want to do when I go back. There’s always something to do there and was both a relaxing and adventurous place to visit! If you’re looking for some fun in the sun and wanting to experience the island life you need to go to Maui!
