A few days ago I posted this quote on my Instagram:
And then my friend Parker and I started taking about it, specifically about wanting to find someone that is in fact supportive of our passions and how important and crucial it can be. The conversation got my thoughts going and that’s how I came up with tonights blog concept.
I’m sure most of you have heard the saying, “What’s your why?” Essentially this saying is meant to help people figure out why they are doing what they do and help with motivation! Which it has motivated me many times, but as I was talking with Parker I began thinking about my ‘Why’ and I dug deeper.
Our conversation consisted of talking about support, passion and dreams. I had brought up that when I am talking with someone and I mention being a blogger or being passionate about modeling they tend to make a joke or disapprove of it and just how frustrating it can be.
How many times have you actually sat down and listened to someone as they talk about their passions and dreams? How many times have you sat and told someone about your dreams and passions without explaining the why behind them?
Think about it. Have you ever really told anyone the ‘Why’ behind your passions? I feel like I’ve attempted to, but most times it’s never really acknowledged or understood. Not only do I think we as individuals should explain why we are passionate about certain things to others, but I also think we should start listening as others tell us why they have their own passions. Don’t just list off your dreams and passions, take the time to explain why they are important to you. Take the time to acknowledge and listen as others tell you their ‘why’.
We live in a world where anything is possible, but we also live in a world where it can be hard to make your dream a reality. Which means, we need all the support we can get. I want to challenge you to do two things:
-Tell people about your ‘why’ when it comes to the things you are passionate about and the dreams you have.
-Take the time to ask others to explain their passions and dreams to you, acknowledge their why and be supportive.
I’ll start by telling you one of the reasons ‘why’ I am so passionate about having a blog and being an influencer on social media. Short and sweet, I have been through A LOT in my life and I’ve found a passion for inspiring others and hope that on some level others can relate. I started my blog as a place to share my faith, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and this lead to me wanting to inspire anyone that may come across my social media or blog, no matter what area that might be in. I want to make a difference in peoples lives.
Why do you have your passions? Why are you following your dreams? How can I support you? How are you going to support others? I’d absolutely love to hear from you on this topic! So DM me, email me, comment!!!
