It’s that time of year again, the month of love.

When’s the last time that you took the time to sit down and really think about what you want in a significant other?

Every so often I re-evaluate about my dating life and what I really want in a significant other. I hadn’t sat down and thought about it for a long while until the other day. As I did this I couldn’t help but feel different about it, I feel excited about it, hopeful for the future. It’s funny as I’ve gotten older what I look for has changed. As I’ve reflected on the relationships I’ve been in there is something positive I can take from each relationship as well as something I can learn from.

And currently I haven’t really been dating at all. I have gone on very few dates with select people that I believe have been worth giving my time to and so far being more particular about who I’m spending my time with has been the best choice for me. It’s interesting, because for me it takes A LOT for me to be willing to spend my time with someone and actually enjoy myself. I’ve mostly been investing my time in other things. Working on myself and thinking about what it is that I truly want out of life.

As I was thinking about it all as a whole picture I came to the conclusion that I probably won’t be blogging about dating for a while. Which I know is a lot of what I’m known for, not blogging about the topic of dating might be risky for my brand, but right now I’d rather focus on real life more than I’m focusing on my brand. Don’t worry I’m still the same sappy hopeless romantic, I’ve just decided that I don’t necessarily want to be consumed by airing my dating life on social media at the moment.

I believe being vulnerable and sharing your relationships with the world is important-especially because I’ve dated men in the past that were ashamed to be with me-but as of this moment (in my almost non existent dating life) I’m going to take the time to turn my blog to other things. Unless it’s a dating topic that is purely inspiring or something I think people will benefit significantly from I’m going to hold off in the area. Hopefully you’ll all still follow along and be inspired by the other topics I decide to blog about. And maybe eventually I’ll dive back in. In the meantime, take the time to think to yourself what you want to get out of dating and what’s important to you when it comes to a relationship, think about what type of person do you want to end up with and how are you going to work on yourself for that person.
