If you saw my latest post on Instagram you know that I’ve been in somewhat of a funk. I haven’t been posting on social media as much and I’ve kinda taken a step back to disconnect and re-evaluate some things. For whatever reason I’ve felt like I haven’t been able to catch a break within so many different areas of my life which has lead to this ‘funk’. I was in a spot where I wanted to connect in real life as opposed to only connecting on social media. I needed a balance. I needed a change in perspective. I needed to get out of the funk I was in. And I’m doing just that! Today I’m going to share 3 ways to get out of a funk because I know I can’t be the only one that’s faced an odd time in life!

  • Re-Evaluate.

Take the time to sit down and evaluate different parts of your life, think about what your goals are and if parts of your life are aligning with those goals. I touched on my Instagram about re-evaluating things that aren’t cultivating growth. I feel like a lot of times, if I’m in a ‘funk’ it’s because I’m being stagnant and not growing. So take the time to use this opportunity to grow.

  • Connect in real life.

It’s somewhat crazy to think how social media and technology has advanced throughout the years. I think social media is a great tool for many different things, but it can also become all consuming. Whenever I feel like I’m in a funk I almost automatically take a step back from social media, not because it’s creating my funk, but simply because I wanted to connect more in real life, not just via social media.

  • Find loyalty.

Just last night I was talking with someone about the topic of loyalty. We were talking about how rare it is nowadays and how loyalty is so incredibly hard to come by. It’s true. Nobody is loyal anymore. When I’m in a funky spot in life I am constantly wanting to find motivation and support because those are two things that help me get out of that funk. So surround yourself with people that are genuine and loyal to you. Build your support system. To an extent you should also be loyal to yourself. Not in a selfish way but in a way that will help you to grow personally or a way that will motivate you. It can be hard not to become overwhelmed by being in a funk and honestly, the only person that is going to identify it and change it is yourself. With that being said you DO NOT have to get yourself out of it alone. Surround yourself with loyalty and stick with it.

The most important thing about all of the above is taking the funk you’re in and making it into an opportunity to grow personally. We’re all human, we all face hard times and slumps. And we all have to learn from the experiences within our lives. Hopefully these tips can help you get out of your funk! What do you normally do to get yourself out of a funk?
