Live Your Fairytale!

So this week I am in Disneyland with family and it has been the best trip ever!!! If you follow me on instagram I posted a photo with the caption ‘Who needs Prince Charming when churros & dole whips exist?!’ Which is entirely accurate in my life, food trumps prince charming at the moment. Yes, one day I hope my prince charming comes along but guess what?! First off, dating is no fairytale. Second off it’s okay to be happy without your prince charming. Years ago, I was in a place where my happiness depended upon if I was in a relationship or not. Looking back at it now, I can’t help but think how absolutely ridiculous that was.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a Prince Charming or a princess in your life, but you shouldn’t base your fairytale solely off that fact.

Work on becoming royalty before your prince or princess arrives. Become the best you can be for that person. Be okay with being on your own. Work towards your own goals.  Maybe its just me but I really don’t want to be impatiently waiting 24/7 for that person to come around and suddenly have my life become the fairytale I’ve always wanted it to be just because they are in my life-cough cough I am the most impatient about love. I want to be living my fairytale life every single day, not letting my fairytale depend upon a significant other. So I’ve taken the time to figure out how to get myself to a place where my life is already fairytale. And by fairytale I do not mean my life is perfect, life is incredibly messy, I simply mean I’m living a life that makes me happy!

Living my fairytale now doesn’t discredit my future prince charming in any way. You will not miss out on future happiness because you are happy now. If you know me, you know I am the biggest hopeless romantic out there, I cannot wait until the day where I can have my prince charming and be his princess. I’m sure most of you that are currently single feel the same. It’s hard to not think about the future or what’s next, and you should! I just think sometimes people get so wrapped up in ‘when I find the one’ or ‘when I’m in a relationship…’ instead of taking the time to appreciate and live in where they are currently at in life. Getting caught up in that space can prevent you from recognizing different opportunities to grow. So start living your fairytale now instead of wishing you were.

Some ways you can start now:

  • Make a list of what makes you happy.
  • Do those things that make you happy-obvious I know.
  • Start taking the time to invest in bettering yourself.
  • Recognize your self worth!
  • Eliminate things from your life that do not create happiness.
  • Remember that your prince or princess WILL come, and they will be worth the wait.
  • Create a life that you enjoy-then when that significant other comes, they will just be a bonus.

To kick off your fairytale life I will be hosting a DISNEYLAND GIVEAWAY!!! Be sure to stay tuned and turn on notifications for my instagram (@lifeof.lex) for more details!
